Load-bearing and force transmission function: withstand significant static and dynamic loads
U-bolts are subjected to extremely complex loads during operation:
Static load: The weight of the vehicle itself and the cargo it carries are ultimately transmitted to the leaf springs via the frame, and then transferred to the axle through the clamping points of the U-bolts. The U-bolts must possess extremely high strength to withstand the continuous pressure of several tons or even tens of tons.
Dynamic impact load: When a vehicle travels on a bumpy road, the wheels experience severe impacts, which are transmitted through the axle to the U-bolt in the opposite direction. The U-bolt must possess excellent fatigue resistance to withstand thousands of repeated impacts without fracturing.
Torque Load: For the drive axle, the engine's power (torque) is transmitted to the axle via the drive shaft, driving the wheels to rotate. This immense torsional force is also transferred through the connection points of the U-bolts. Therefore, the fastening of the U-bolts must be absolutely reliable to prevent relative rotation between the axle and the leaf springs.
